RESEARCH
The Projects & Publications Center (PPC) will coordinate and improve the quality and content of all projects and publications, both internal and external, of the college. The Center will have the following responsibilities:
- To guide and mentor, the faculty and student teams involved in various course related, external agency sponsored or industry related projects being undertaken on the campus. Periodically meet with faculty guides and faculty project coordinators to ensure their progress.
- To select and monitor specific final year projects that can produce journal publications and conference publications. At least 4 journal publications and 8 conference presentations should be the target for each academic year.
- To ensure that as much as possible the second semester design and engineering course projects can be followed up for the fifth semester design project which will lead to the final year project.
- To supervise the production of high quality presentation material (videos, posters, demos etc) based on the projects
- Organize project exhibitions for S2 and S8 projects towards the end of even semesters with industry expert judges and prize money.
- To create and maintain spaces on campus for preserving previous projects.
- To mentor research minded and high caliber students towards higher education and product development goals.
- To daily update the college community about various project and publication activities in the campus.
- To ensure college website is updated with Project news, Project summaries, photographs and videos.
- Prepare and pass on press releases based on successful and innovative projects. Different online portals and online portals should also be considered for getting maximum coverage.
- To initiate the recognition of Intellectual Property created through the projects. Help in patent search, filing, etc
- Create press releases for various notable events organized on campus or by various campus associations.
- Strictly monitor the quality, formatting and presentation of all the project reports created on campus.
- Create Memorandums of Understanding with various educational and research institutions, national and international, as well as industry partners aimed towards project work, knowledge sharing and industrial visits etc. MoUs with software and hardware vendors to provide student versions and free support for their products and services on campus.
- MoUs signed with our college should be used for maximum benefit to our students and faculties. Press releases should be done immediately after signing the MOU’s to get maximum coverage. MoUs should be prominently featured on the college website as well as physical locations on campus.
- External projects taken should be assigned to different faculty teams according to their expertise and specialization. Identify external R&D partners for tie up for each project.
- LinkedIn profile for the college should be created and regularly updated.
- Conduct orientation on the importance of publications and plagiarism for selected 3rd year students. By the end of second semester, students should be identified and categorized according to their goal after graduation be it higher studies, entrepreneurship, industry placement etc.
- To utilize the infrastructure at our computer labs to benefit our students through exposure to the latest software in the industry. Use the Skill Delivery Platform Kerala facility to provide training to our students in the latest technology through government and private channels.
- Organize regular expert interactions on campus for select audience
- To plan, prepare and execute one annual signature Conclave/ Conference on engineering, technology, education and entrepreneurship with international participation.
