Rev. Fr. Popson Kuriakose

Before he was chosen by the Lord to do His work, Rev. Fr. Popson Kuriakose was site engineer at Ray Constructions Pvt Ltd, IIT Mumbai for 6 years. He managed the civil construction of Raymond Steel- Nasik, ISPAT industries Vadukkal – Pen, Uttan Kalwa Steel- Khopoli, SPCL-Nagothane, Mukund Steel- Thane and the Chiplun site. In connection with this, he went to MSOT seminary, Mulanthuruthy for theological studies. On completion of the studies, he was ordained as Deacon at Mount Senai, Kothamangalam by H B Baselios Thomas I, Catholicos of the east and on 13th march 1999 he was ordained as priest by HG. Dr. Thomas Mor Thimotheos Metropolitan at St.Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral Church, Kundara.

ADMINISTRATIVE & PASTORAL RESPONSIBILITIES

He worked in slums and streets of Mumbai serving the poor and downtrodden as a part of his theological studies. He constructed four churches in North India including those at Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Vikaspuri and Dilshad Garden -New Delhi.

Rev.Fr.Popson developed educational institutions in Ludhiana and Madhya Pradesh and served as Principal and Director of St. Geevarghese Convent School, Bhopal. During his stint in North India, he also served as vicar in eleven churches. For four years he worked at various mission fields at Ambala in Punjab. He has served as secretary at the Delhi diocese.

On returning to Kerala, he joined Kollam diocese and served as vicar of churches in Parackod, Adoor and Thevoor. Simultaneously, he engaged as the administrator of Holy Cross College of Management and Technology, Puttady, Idukki.

On 1st January, 2013, he took charge as advisor and administator of Trinity College of Engineering, Trivandrum. Besides being the counselor of the college, Rev.Fr. Popson manages the infrastructure developments of the college. His caring presence is available round the clock for the hostel students as he resides on the campus itself.
